The NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation
I Bought a Pistol. Now What?
This class is designed to give new gun owners an understanding of basic operation, responsibility and safety. It focuses specifically on modern semi-automatic pistols.
This course is at least three hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type.
Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.
Before You buy your first pistol.
This is an excellent class to take before you buy your first pistol. You can rent firearms from us for use in this class, or bring your own. We rent Glock Model 19 semi-automatic pistols which are a pretty common and standard pistol
You will get real experience firing live ammunition and learn about features and considerations that important when purchasing your first firearm.
