Term	Definition
Firearm	A loaded or unloaded handgun, pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, or other weapon that can fire a projectile by using an explosives or expanding gasses. Permanently inoperable firearms excluded.
Firing Pin	The part of the breech mechanism which strikes the primer of the cartridge. (In most firearms, the firing pin is part of the bolt assembly.)
